Working Principle

When there is local overheating or partial discharge in a transformer, the insulating oil or solid insulation at the fault site will decompose small molecules of hydrocarbon gases (e.g., CH4, C2H6, C2H4, C2H2, etc.) and other gases (e.g., H2, CO, etc.). The concentration of these gases in the oil and the total concentration of combustible gases (TCG) in the oil can be used as indicators for the diagnosis of internal transformer faults. The device adopts the principle of broad-spectrum gas chromatography analysis, sucking the transformer oil into the oil sample collection unit by differential pressure pump suction, and then after oil and gas separation and decontamination, the fault characteristic gases are introduced into the chromatographic column for separation, and then detected by the gas sensor, and finally analyzed and judged the operation status of the transformer through the data processing and fault diagnosis system.
